  29. Just for the record, I got my v2.06 disks here in Northern Ireland last weekend
  30. - and very nice they are too.
  31.  
  32. Having said that though, there isn't a lot of difference between them and the
  33. previous set of v2.01 I received about 3-4 weeks before. 
  34.  
  35. Well, at least I have a source of free DSHD floppies!
  36.  
  37. That question from Ken about the odd motherboard rang a bell or 2. My last PC 
  38. was a 286 in a slim-line case from MJN Technologies. It employed a standard 
  39. motherboard (8 slots) but it used a wierd riser board with 5 slots on it. 3
  40. sprouted to the left and 2 to the right. I was therefore able to upgrade
  41. successfully to a 486sx with theminimum of fuss. Dunno about Packard Bell
  42. though...
  43.  
  44. One other small thing, about Comanche-MO with SBOS. I've tried it and all I get 
  45. are very strange organ chords when firing missiles, etc. I got the patch from
  46. epas but it refused to work. I know I must be doing something wrong - what, I 
  47. don't know.

  81.     Obviously the beta version of MIDPAK/DIGPAK exist so why
  82. doesn't gravis make them available? If IBM can make OS2.1 beta
  83. available on the net I don't see any reason why MIDPAK/DIGPAK can't
  84. be made available.

  86.     Gravis definately does not have the resources to test every
  87. single game out there (SBOS proved that ];->) so why not circulate 
  88. the drivers and let us the end users test them? This will ensure 
  89. blanket testing of available games.

  91.     Hey, a simple upload to epas with a message saying "Forte
  92. is not responsible for any radioactive fallouts in your area if the
  93. drivers blow up" will put them in the clear for any mishaps right?.

  114. First of all, the good news. POP2 works with or without emm386 (on my
  115. machine anyway) with the new SBOS 2.0B9.
  116.  
  117. However, something strange happened when I was playing the opening stage
  118. repeatedly (guess why ;-) ). Each consecutive attempt resulted in a lower
  119. volume level until I can barely hear the window breaking when he jumps thru
  120. it. Fortunately, I have my GUS hooked up to an amp and I had to turn the
  121. volume quite high to continue playing the game.
  122.  
  123. This happened with or without emm386. The volume keys "[" and "]" didn't do
  124. a thing. My system is a 386DX-33MHz, 4MB RAM, Tseng ET4000, DOS 5.0,
  125. Stacker 3.0 and running 4DOS 4.01.

  127. Did anyone notice this strange phenomenon?

  722. With the 2.06 disks I'm still having trouble with XWing. Digital speech
  723. not in sync with the graphics, sound playback slowing down the game
  724. drastically, spiratic noise and skips, etc. I am not using any of the SBOS
  725. switches, are there any I should be trying? I haven't given the 0032
  726. version from the FTP site a try yet. Does this help?
